The Hasselblad Xpan Format feels so natural to me, like an extension of me is you will. It gives me the ability to capture what I feel. This opening page of images are ones that are most special to me from this trip. The colorful beach huts are in Muizenberg and at St. James beach in the Cape Town area. The colorful and breathtaking sunsets were taken in Namaqualand where the air was pristine and the sky bluer than one could imagine. In the first sunset below, I had just seconds to jump a fence run through a field and jump another fence! The green foliage growing in the black and tan rock is a last minute grab thanks to Dee at the Secret Waterfall and is now a favorite! The stones in the sand and the old car give me the giggles each time I see them. As my friend Carla would say, I'm doing the happy dance. To get to the Quiver trees, Ferrell and I had to climb a steep hillside in the middle of nowhere, but what fun! In the big bolder picture...I really am holding it up so Ferrell could take the picture! The shot of the field of flowers is at the National Park in Namaqualand. While not a great image, I had to include it because of the emotion I feel for this lovely spot. The sun peaking through the clouds below was taken from the side of the road as we approached Kamishkroon to begin the workshop. It did not mean much to me that day, but as I viewed it on the light table, I feel it was a gift, a ray of light, a sign of what lay ahead for me in this journey. It is a symbol of hope shining down on this wonderful place and people I've come to love.
